Trackday @ Bilster Berg Drive Ressort

Good news!

We managed to block one of the last available days this year at our partner Bilster Berg Drive Ressort to organize our own trackday!
On September 10th the Team Mothes GP will be on location with both cars and we invite all petrolheads to experience this brand new and exciting track with us together!
In order to achieve the optimal experience for everyone, the trackday is divided into two groups. In Group 1 are  street legal vehicles , and therefore Group 2 are race cars without a license. Both groups will take turns driving for 45 minutes.
Our Radical SR3 SL and the Mothes GP TT RS are available for this event, the offer includes stints as race-taxi, booking the car for a ride on your own as well as a full-day rental. The number of participants is limited to only 50 vehicles in order to preserve the exclusive character of this event!

Our aim is to make this trackday an unforgettable experience on this exceptional circuit. So we start it the evening prior to the actual event at the Hotel & Spa Gräflicher Hof, a four star – hotel with a large spa and park. This so called Drivers Dinner has not only the purpose of providing the participants with all relevant information regarding the schedule for next days event and the rules for a safe Trackday, but  also giving you the opportunity of getting together with all the individual racers and discuss motors and talk shop. Furthermore, we have instructors on site that are happy to help improve the individual’s driving skills. To keep all drivers in perfect racing condition we also provide a catering at the track´s bistro all day long.

The next chapter

On todays leap day our second car will be delivered to us.

Our Audi TT RS spent the last weeks at our partner Mcchip-DKR SoftwarePerformance and got some jointly developed improvements to create a real track car.
In an almost 2month long reconstruction we implemented the following clubsport package for the Mothes GP TT RS.

-       Full safety rollcage by M2 Automotive, for improved stability and a race approved safety cell

-       Mcchip-DKR “Stage 3 Performance Kit” with optimized enginemapping, approx.. 420bhp and 456 lb-ft of torque

-       76mm Race exhaust system past the turbo by Milltek Sport

-       Brembo GT 355mm entire breaking system

-       KW Clubsport suspension, fully adjustable and tuned to Nordschleife-specs

-       TT RS fixed rear spoiler

-       Complete Mothes GP Design package, vinyl wrapping done by Cover EFX

A short report on our tests in the Eifel

When we started our trip near Cologne in the early morning it was already damp and cold, our expectations regarding the practicality of this event in this conditions were pretty low. Those fears came true 30 seconds after leaving the famous Autobahn; welcome to the Eifel, it´s snowing!!

Still ambitious we did a couple of test runs on semi-slicks and wet tires but the conditions were too slippery.

With 0,5°C and strong winds we set out to test the various tire compounds anyway and slowly got a feel for the limits. With the wet compound the Radical SR3 SL was still able to impress all of us with the amount of grip it generated! During noon it brightened up for a short period of time and we just had to use this amazing scenery for a little foto shoot. You can see the results below this article.

Although we had to cancel the event, this day still was a success to us since we were able to test out the limits in slippery conditions, got to know the car even better with all that training and also had some interesting chats with business partners, we´ll keep you posted about some cool stuff to come!

Enjoy the pics and the whole team of Mothes GP wishes you a merry christmas!

First testdrive at the Hockenheim Circuit

It arrived!

Thursday, 17.11.2011: This day will be burned into the memory of all those involved in Mothes GP. Radical was so kind to deliver the Radical SR3 SL to our door and introduce our new baby to a really stunned Mothes GP crew.

Yesterday night we were able to do some quick test rides and one fact has already been established by all of us: The Radical SR3 SL beats all Sports- and Race cars we´ve driven in the last years regarding dynamics, acceleration and feeling by miles!
This upcoming saturday, 19th of November, we will be at the Hockenheimring for adjustment rides and first impressions in race conditions. Incredible how Radical managed to create this race car and met all requirements for the EG-Homologation to make this beast road legal!

So if some of you are interested and live near by or are willing to take a trip to this racetrack and smell some racing air:
We´ll be there from 9am to 5pm and are always happy to have some guests that would like to get to know Mothes GP and the Radical!

News from the Frankfurt Motor Show

After being hosted by Radical Sportscars on Thursday and Saturday for the unveiling and first big presentation of Mothes GP and our car in front of a huge audience, we´ve put new pictures and a small video with our impressions into the multimedia-section! We didn´t expect such a surge, so thank you all for showing so much interest and again a big thank you to Radical Sportscars and the Commercial Director Germany, Alexander Tauer, for giving us the opportunity not only to present our car but also our company at their stand!

The Artwork to our MothesGP Radical is finalised!

Our designer has finished the work on the final appearance of the vehicle!

Since the car will be delivered in white, we are only going to paint a few areas in the colors of MothesGP and emphasise it with a third color. The final design will be presented as soon as we receive the vehicle!

An exact date for this will be announced.

Giving Birth to MothesGP

Several years ago we had the idea to set up a racing team sooner or later.

What initially had been the dream of four enthusiastic racing fans, soon became more tangible when we developed some business plans and concepts for our own racing team, focusing on Taxi-rides around famous european racetracks. By our experience in racing and its expertise gained in terms of not only driving skills, but also logistical and financial strategies, the concept was taking shape very quickly. After a short time the necessary funds were secured and already back then it was clear for us, there must be a radical!

Starting the conceptional phase, we planned to have a Radical rebuilt to get a German approval for street-usage, but then we got the best news from radical at all: They were developing a street-legal Radical!

A short time later our Radical SR3 SL was reserved and we finally had the racecar for MothesGP we had been dreaming of.
